Suspects arrested for musical festival shooting that left two victims dead

An alarming incident unfolded on Saturday near the Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington when a person opened fire in a nearby campground, leading to the death of two individuals. The suspect was quickly apprehended by the authorities.

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement promptly responded to the incident, pursuing the suspect who was then detained. Several individuals were injured by gunfire, including the suspect, bringing the total count of injured to three.

The incident took place around 8:20 p.m., approximately 100 yards from the popular entertainment venue. After initiating the shooting spree, the suspect attempted to flee the scene. Law enforcement officials, however, arrived swiftly and managed to locate the shooter who continued to fire into the crowd before being apprehended.

The sheriff’s office issued a public advisory for those at the Gorge, recommending people to seek shelter, hide, or confront the shooter if necessary.

The Gorge Amphitheatre is an open-air venue capable of hosting 27,500 attendees. The venue was set to hold Beyond Wonderland, an electronic dance festival, on that Saturday.

The festival’s organizers issued a cautionary message on Twitter, advising people to steer clear of the Gorge Gate H campgrounds due to an incident that was being managed by local authorities. They reassured attendees that there was no immediate threat to the festival or campground areas.

However, following the tragic events of the night, the second day of the festival was called off.

The festival promoters expressed their gratitude towards the local authorities and staff for their rapid response and control over the situation. They also extended their condolences to the family, friends, and everyone affected by this unfortunate incident.
