SAN ANTONIO, TX — San Antonio police have identified a 20-year-old man arrested after a 75-year-old resident stabbed him multiple times during an alleged burglary at a North Side home in July.
Noah James Davidson was arrested at the scene of the July 16 incident and later charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit a felony, according to court records cited by KSAT. The charge is a first-degree felony. Police said Davidson suffered life-threatening injuries before he was taken into custody.
Officers were sent at about 6:15 a.m. to the 30 block of Fonthill Way, near Austin Highway and Harry Wurzbach Road. According to a preliminary San Antonio Police Department report, authorities received several calls about a man damaging a vehicle and attempting to enter homes in the neighborhood.
Police said Davidson then attempted to enter another residence, where he encountered a 75-year-old man inside. The resident stabbed Davidson multiple times in the upper body, according to an update SAPD provided to KSAT. Authorities have not publicly identified the resident.
Police have not said what type of weapon was used in the confrontation. Initial reports said first responders took Davidson to a local hospital with injuries considered life-threatening. He was later booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center.
The identification provided an update to the case nearly a month after the incident. When police first reported the attempted burglary July 16, the suspect was described only as a 20-year-old man. Officers said they apprehended him at the scene after responding to the burglary call.
Court and jail records cited by KSAT show Davidson was held on a $50,000 bond and fulfilled the bond six days after the incident. The records list the case as burglary of a habitation with intent to commit a felony. The charge remains an allegation, and the available records do not establish a conviction.
SAPD has not announced whether the 75-year-old resident will face any charges related to the stabbing. Police have also not released additional details explaining the circumstances of the confrontation beyond the preliminary account. Investigators have said the case remains under investigation.
Court records indicate Davidson is expected to make his next court appearance Oct. 15. No additional charges or major developments in the case had been publicly confirmed in the sources reviewed as of Thursday.
