Police seeking suspects in pistol-whipping tied to road rage

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Authorities in San Antonio are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying suspects involved in a violent road rage incident that left one man injured on Monday afternoon. The altercation occurred at a QuikTrip gas station located on the far West Side of the city, near Marbach Road and Loop 410.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) initially responded to reports of a shooting, but later clarified that the victim had been pistol-whipped rather than shot. The man, who has not been identified, is currently in stable condition with injuries that are not life-threatening.

Surveillance images released by BCSO show two men involved in the confrontation. The incident began when the vehicles of the victim and suspects nearly collided in the parking lot, escalating into a violent encounter. The suspects were reportedly traveling in a maroon truck towing a fifth-wheel trailer loaded with heavy construction equipment.

One suspect, described as wearing a dark blue shirt, blue jeans, a baseball cap, and a beard, allegedly brandished a black handgun. He then proceeded to strike the victim multiple times in the head with the weapon. The severity of the injuries initially led officials to believe a shooting had occurred, but medical examinations later confirmed otherwise.

BCSO urges anyone with information about the suspects or the incident to come forward and contact them at 210-335-6000. The authorities are hopeful that the public can help in quickly identifying and locating those responsible for the attack.

As the investigation continues, the community remains on alert, with many residents expressing concern over the increasing incidents of road rage in the area. Local law enforcement is emphasizing the importance of remaining calm and avoiding confrontations on the road to prevent similar occurrences.
