HENDERSON, NV – A dramatic police chase in Henderson on Monday night concluded with multiple individuals hospitalized and a suspect in custody. Authorities were pursuing a suspect linked to human trafficking when the incident unfolded.
The chase began near Henderson Hospital following a report of a woman, believed to be a victim of human trafficking, seeking help. Upon arrival, officers identified a suspect who fled as they attempted to make contact.
In a desperate attempt to escape, the suspect tried to hijack a vehicle occupied by a mother, her three young children, and her elderly mother. The suspect reversed the car, nearly hitting the mother, who managed to jump into the backseat to protect her children.
An officer, acting swiftly, used his patrol car to block the suspect’s path, preventing the vehicle from entering the freeway. The maneuver successfully halted the suspect, who was then apprehended by police.
Henderson Police Chief Reggie Rader praised the officers’ quick actions, crediting them with potentially saving lives. He noted that the situation could have been far worse, given the suspect’s alleged involvement in human trafficking.
All individuals, including the family in the stolen car, were taken to the hospital for minor injuries and are expected to recover. The suspect now faces a series of charges, including coercion, domestic violence, battery, resisting arrest, and multiple counts of kidnapping.
The police department continues to investigate the incident, emphasizing their commitment to tackling human trafficking and protecting vulnerable individuals in the community.
Chief Rader expressed gratitude for the officers’ bravery and the positive outcome, acknowledging the challenging nature of such high-stakes situations.
