Police looking for a man who robbed a grocery store

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Authorities in San Antonio are seeking assistance from the public to identify a suspect involved in a robbery at a West Side H-E-B store last Thursday. The incident has prompted Crime Stoppers to offer a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the suspect’s arrest.

The robbery occurred at the H-E-B located on Marbach Road and Southwest Loop 410. According to the police, the suspect, captured in surveillance footage, brandished a firearm during the incident. Crime Stoppers is counting on the community’s help to identify the individual shown in the images.

Local resident Yvette Gibbs, who frequents the H-E-B twice a week, expressed her shock upon learning about the robbery. “It’s crazy,” she said. “Why is he pulling a gun out? Doesn’t he know he’s gonna get in trouble with the law?”

The suspect reportedly attempted to leave the store with unpaid merchandise at approximately 4:40 p.m. His exit was interrupted when confronted by four individuals. Fortunately, no shots were fired during the confrontation.

Gibbs expressed relief that the situation did not escalate further. “It’s never happened to me, but if it did, I probably would have frozen,” she admitted.

San Antonio police continue to urge anyone with information to come forward, emphasizing the potential reward as an incentive for those who may have valuable leads.

The community’s safety remains a priority, and authorities are hopeful that the suspect will be identified and apprehended swiftly to prevent any future incidents.

As the investigation continues, residents are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.
