Ohio man arrested for assaulting woman and stuffing her inside of a container

In a shocking incident in Cleveland, Ohio, a man was arrested after a brutally assaulted woman was discovered in a container on his porch. 31-year-old Dalontay Edmond-Geiger was apprehended on May 2 when officers, conducting a welfare check at his residence, found the severely injured 60-year-old woman.

Reports indicate that Edmond-Geiger had taken the unidentified victim to his home in early May, where he subjected her to a brutal ordeal of assault and torture. The victim was beaten and stabbed. Her hands were bound with zip ties before she was stuffed into a container, according to the Cuyahoga County prosecutor’s office.

Currently, the victim is receiving treatment for her injuries at MetroHealth Medical Center. Commenting on the case, Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley expressed his shock at the severity of the crime, describing it as one of the most horrific cases he had encountered in his career. He expressed gratitude for the woman’s rescue and conveyed his prayers for her recovery.

Police were directed to Edmond-Geiger’s residence by another woman who reported that Edmond-Geiger had claimed to have assaulted the victim in retaliation for her alleged role as an informant, as per a report from the Cleveland Division of Police. Furthermore, the witness mentioned that Edmond-Geiger had shown her images of his gruesome act when she visited his house to purchase narcotics.

During the police search of Edmond-Geiger’s residence, the officers heard the sound of moaning. Edmond-Geiger attempted to drown the sound by playing loud music on his phone. The source of the sound was later discovered to be the victim, found in a tote on the front porch.

Edmond-Geiger was apprehended on the spot and subsequently faced indictment on multiple charges, including attempted murder, felonious assault, and kidnapping. His bail has been set at $500,000, and the arraignment is slated for May 15.
