Multiple women file sexual assault lawsuits against disgraced doctor

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI – A former doctor from Rochester Hills is facing new allegations of sexual misconduct, adding to the charges already leveled against him. Dr. Umair Ajaz, who practiced at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, is accused of sexually assaulting and secretly recording women and children at hospitals and a local swim club.

This week, three women filed separate lawsuits claiming Ajaz assaulted them and recorded their images without consent during their visits to the hospital. The lawsuits add to an ongoing class action that some felt did not adequately represent their individual claims.

In a shocking discovery, investigators reportedly found approximately 15,000 videos in Ajaz’s possession, depicting patients in compromising situations. Some footage allegedly shows Ajaz inappropriately touching patients.

Attorneys Matthew Picker and Paul Huebner from Fieger Law assert that complaints were made to the hospital but were ignored. They claim Ajaz treated patients not assigned to him, raising questions about hospital policies and oversight.

“What kind of systems allow such breaches to occur?” Picker asked, urging more victims to come forward. He emphasized the community’s need for accountability and protection.

Henry Ford Health issued a statement affirming their commitment to patient safety, stating, “We prioritize the safety of our patients and team members in everything we do.”

The case highlights serious concerns about institutional oversight and patient protection within healthcare facilities. As more victims emerge, the need for systemic change becomes increasingly evident.

The allegations against Ajaz have sent ripples of shock through the community, prompting calls for more stringent safety measures in medical environments.
