Mom stabbed to death by daughter on live stream

SAN RAFAEL, CA – A disturbing tragedy unfolded in San Rafael on Monday. A woman allegedly stabbed her own mother to death and then broadcast the horrific act on social media, according to local police.

Tonantzyn Oris Beltran, 28, was reportedly engaged in a physical fight and a stabbing incident at an apartment complex just before 5 p.m. on Monday, which led to police involvement. Upon arrival at the apartment, officers claim to have found a bloody scene on the balcony. Beltran allegedly stood next to her mother, who was soaked in blood and seriously wounded from a stab injury, gripping a knife in her hand.

Beltran reportedly did not immediately comply with the police’s instructions. Officers subsequently entered the apartment through the front door and were able to apprehend her.

Firefighters arrived at the scene to provide first aid to the victim, who was then rushed to a hospital. Sadly, the 55-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries. Police have identified her as Beltran’s mother and continue to investigate the motive for the alleged stabbing.

Adding to the distressing case, San Rafael police revealed that the incident was filmed by Beltran and live-streamed on Facebook. Upon learning about the video, authorities made a request to Meta, Facebook’s parent company, to remove the footage. Both witnesses at the scene and those viewing the incident on Facebook initially alerted police to the attack.

Beltran is known to frequently share content across various social media platforms. She was even filmed earlier that same day in Santa Rose Police Department’s lobby, a few hours before the tragic incident. The San Rafael and Santa Rosa departments are now collaborating to discern the sequence of events leading up to the fatal incident.
