LOS ANGELES, CA – A horrifying assault in Brentwood has left a new mother recovering after being attacked while on a walk with her one-month-old baby. The incident took place near Montana Avenue and South Gretna Green Way, a short distance from the victim’s home.
The victim, named Carmina Lu, was seized from behind by an unknown male assailant while out for a walk with her infant in a baby stroller. “He grabbed me by the hips and he just started thrusting himself into me,” Lu recounted. She reported that the suspect wouldn’t stop despite her resistance to his assault.
Despite being punched in the face several times by the assailant, Lu managed to fend off her aggressor. She was able to safeguard her baby from experiencing harm in the process.
Acting swiftly on the distress alarm raised by the neighbors, Lu’s husband intervened in order to protect his wife. He working from home at the time, and he hurried to the scene to ensure the safety of his wife and child before embarking on a search for the assailant.
The attacker, Abraham Shily, a 26-year-old male, was apprehended by investigators on Thursday. After being captured, he was subsequently charged with Felony Battery.
