Mom arrested for hitting boyfriend and toddler with her car

LAKE WALES, FL – Tensions escalated to a violent level in Lake Wales, Florida, when a 27-year-old mother, Aaliyah Ross, was arrested for allegedly using her car as a weapon against her boyfriend and their young child.

The incident occurred Monday afternoon, culminating in Ross being booked into the Orange County jail on Tuesday on multiple charges, including aggravated child abuse and leaving the scene of an accident.

The situation unfolded following a heated argument over child discipline between Ross and her 25-year-old boyfriend at their home, according to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd. The dispute reportedly turned physical, with Ross knocking her boyfriend to the ground. Seeking to cool off, the boyfriend then went outside, holding their 16-month-old son in his arms.

However, the altercation took a dangerous turn when the boyfriend, in a moment of anger, threw a cinder block onto Ross’s vehicle. “Well, that makes her mad,” Sheriff Judd stated during a press briefing. Incensed by the damage to her car, Ross responded by loading two other young children, aged 4 years and 6 months, into the vehicle. In a shocking maneuver, she reportedly drove the car towards her boyfriend and their toddler son with apparent intent to hit them.

The gravity of the situation is underscored by the presence of the couple’s children, making the charges particularly severe. The case highlights the perilous escalation of domestic incidents and the dire consequences they can have, especially when children are involved. Local authorities are treating the case with utmost seriousness as investigations continue.
