Mom And 4-Year-Old Daughter Found Shot To Death In Hotel Room

Police were called to the APM Inn and Suites on Dual Highway on Wednesday afternoon.A woman and her 4-year-old daughter were found dead from apparent gunshot wounds inside of their hotel room in Maryland. No signs of a break-in were found.

The victims were identified as Elise Wars and Khori Ashton. Khori was the 4-year-old daughter of the young woman that was found dead.

The two victims were last seen alive in the hotel room at 6:49 p.m. Monday. A woman entered the room two hours later and left about 10 minutes later.

Authorities determined that the mother and daughter were intentional targets of the attack, and arrested a 22-year-old man who faces several criminal charges. Javon Hines, 22, was tracked down by the police and is now in custody.

The suspect’s charges include first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and reckless endangerment. He is being held without bond and is booked to level out up in courtroom on Dec. 14.

A person who had a close relationship with the pair said they didn’t deserve to die, and that the 4-year-old girl was innocent. The tragedy of their death is heartbreaking regardless, but knowing that a child endured that kind of brutality was too much to bear.

Hagerstown Police sought an arrest warrant for Javon Hines, who was found and arrested in Elkton, Cecil County, Md., on Thursday afternoon with the help of other law enforcement agencies.

Hines, who was found in northeastern Maryland, appeared remotely in court. He made his appearance from the detention center via video conference, wearing a teal top and a surgical mask.

He was remote during the hearing because posed a major flight risk, according to Assistant State’s Attorney Danielle Lackovic. He had previous criminal history and pending cases related to drug possession and distribution.
