Robert Page faces multiple felony charges after authorities say three women were wounded in separate incidents Sunday morning.
FAYETTEVILLE, NC — A 52-year-old Fayetteville man accused of shooting three women during a series of incidents that included two attempted carjackings was ordered held without bond after appearing in court Monday, according to local court reporting.
Robert Page faces multiple felony charges stemming from the Aug. 30 shootings in Fayetteville and Cumberland County. Authorities say the incidents began shortly after 7 a.m. with a shooting on Messenger Street and continued minutes later at a Hardee’s on Ramsey Street and a Food Lion on McArthur Road. Police arrested Page after officers and investigators tracked him following the shootings.
Cumberland County sheriff’s deputies first responded to the 700 block of Messenger Street after a 911 call reporting a shooting. Deputies found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound and had her taken for medical treatment. Prosecutors later identified the woman as Page’s girlfriend and described the shooting as a domestic incident. Page had left before deputies arrived, according to authorities.
Prosecutors allege Page then left in his girlfriend’s vehicle and traveled to a Hardee’s parking lot in the 6300 block of Ramsey Street. Fayetteville police were called there at about 7:12 a.m. for a reported shooting and attempted carjacking. Officers found another woman who had been shot. Authorities say Page tried to take a vehicle occupied by a couple before fleeing the scene.
A short time later, police were called to the Food Lion parking lot in the 900 block of McArthur Road for another shooting and attempted carjacking. Officers found a third woman wounded there. Page again left before police arrived, but investigators used information from witnesses and the Fayetteville Police Department’s Crime Information Center to locate him. Authorities said he surrendered without incident.
The Food Lion victim was identified by her family as 24-year-old Isabella Dolin. Her sister, Leighanna Bullard, told local news outlets that Dolin had stopped to get coffee before work when a man approached her and demanded her vehicle. Bullard said her sister suffered a serious facial injury and will require reconstructive surgery. Authorities have not publicly identified the other two women by name in the reporting reviewed for this story.
Cumberland County District Attorney Billy West said in court that the Messenger Street case appeared to involve a domestic incident, while the women encountered at the two Fayetteville businesses appeared to have had no prior connection to Page. Authorities have not announced a broader motive for the sequence of shootings, and the cases remain under investigation.
Page faces charges that include attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, robbery and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and other offenses. The cases involve charges filed by authorities investigating incidents in both Fayetteville and Cumberland County. The allegations have not been proven in court, and Page is presumed innocent unless convicted.
Page appeared before a judge Monday, Aug. 31, and was ordered held without bond, according to ABC11 and WRAL. The court proceedings provided prosecutors an opportunity to outline the alleged sequence of events and the charges against him. Court records cited by WRAL also describe Page as a validated member of the Eight Trey Crips, although authorities have not said the shootings were carried out on behalf of a gang or established a gang-related motive.
Initial police reporting said the two women wounded at the Hardee’s and Food Lion were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Officials have not released comprehensive, updated medical conditions for all three women. Dolin’s family has said she faces a lengthy recovery following the Food Lion shooting.
The latest verified reporting reviewed Wednesday does not confirm a separate court appearance for Page on Sept. 2. Reports stating that the suspect was “in court today” were published Monday, Aug. 31, when Page made his initial appearances. He remained held without bond as the criminal cases and investigations continued.
