HPD: Suspect dead after shooting officer in the leg, firing multiple shots at SWAT team – KHOU
SWAT was called to the apartment complex in southeast Houston after a shooting. The suspect was barricaded in an apartment and fired more than ten rounds at police, who did not return fire.
Police responded to a shooting at an apartment complex around 2:11 a.m. Saturday. An officer was shot in the leg and transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released.

The suspect was dead of a self-inflicted gun shot wound by the time the SWAT team was able to enter the residence of the suspect who shot the officer.
The officer who had been shot earlier was treated at the hospital and will be okay and recover at home.
Metro Houston has lost six officers so far in 2022. Three of which were due to shootings. The other three involved motor vehicle accidents, two of which were due to drunk drivers.
