EDMONDS, WA – Newly released video footage reveals a harrowing assault inside an Edmonds massage spa that occurred last month. The footage, obtained through a public records request, shows the terrifying moments as two women were attacked, sustaining broken bones and bruises.
The man identified as 48-year-old Colin Boswell was captured on surveillance and police body cameras during the incident. According to Edmonds police, Boswell allegedly told officers he intended to kill the women and was armed with a knife. Authorities have charged him with attempted murder.
The attack unfolded in a chaotic scene captured on video. A masseuse is seen fleeing from Boswell, while her coworker attempts to intervene, only to be violently thrown to the ground. Despite escaping outside, the attacker pursued and caught up with the masseuse. Meanwhile, the other woman frantically ran across the parking lot seeking help.
Police described the assault as a targeted attack. Officers arrived at Eva Spa on Edmonds Way to find a once peaceful environment turned upside down. Investigators reported that Boswell used a coat rack as a weapon during the brutal assault.
Boswell was apprehended by police across the street, where he was found shirtless, with his belongings scattered near a dumpster. He had blood on his clothing and gloves, although it was unclear if it was his own.
Both victims were hospitalized due to their injuries. Boswell’s bail has been set at $1 million. During court proceedings, he has been uncooperative, missing multiple court appearances. A competency hearing is underway, but questions about his motive remain.
Surveillance footage from a week prior to the incident shows Boswell as a customer at the spa, wearing a mask and behaving normally—a stark contrast to the violent encounter.
Boswell is currently held in Snohomish County Jail as the investigation continues.
