Four-year-old girl dies after being left in hot car

BUCKEYE, AZ - A disturbing tragedy struck in Buckeye, Arizona, over the weekend as a four-year-old girl was found lifeless in a hot car, according to police. The family reportedly returned from a visit to a local park around 2 p.m. on Sunday but did not immediately notice the girl's absence from their group.

The realization of the child's whereabouts came roughly two hours later when the family discovered her in an unresponsive state in their vehicle. The alarming discovery prompted a call to the local police around 5 p.m.

Buckeye police officers sprang into action on arrival. They immediately launched efforts to resuscitate the young girl, applying chest compressions and winding up an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The revival attempts continued up until the moment medics arrived to transport the lifeless child to the hospital- where she was officially declared dead.

The vehicle was parked near North 212th Drive and West Granada Road, as per police reports. Weather data from the nearby Buckeye Municipal Airport showed that temperatures in the area topped around 101 degrees Fahrenheit on that fateful Sunday.

As of now, the investigation by the local police into this unfortunate happening is at its onset.

Man shoots himself after killing 16-year-old girl

AUSTELL, GA – A 16-year-old girl was shot and killed, allegedly by 57-year-old Alejandro Mario Bencomo Aguilar in his Austell home, as reported by the Cobb County Police Department. Police officers arrived at the property on Fringe Flower Drive on Friday morning, responding to a shooting report. When they got to the scene, they found Aguilar wounded, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot.

As law enforcement approached Aguilar, he attempted to further harm himself with a knife. Upon securing his safety, officers discovered the teenage girl in an upstairs bedroom, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Despite immediate medical aid, the teenager was tragically declared dead at the scene.

Aguilar was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he received surgery for his injuries. With the preliminary investigation suggesting that Aguilar shot the minor before shooting himself, authorities moved to press charges against him. Aguilar is now facing charges of murder, aggravated assault, as well as cruelty to children in the first degree.

The official investigation is ongoing, and Cobb County Police are urging anyone who has additional information about the case to get in contact with the Major Crimes Unit.
