HOUSTON, TX — Houston police are investigating a shooting that left a 4-year-old child dead and the child’s mother critically injured Tuesday evening in west Houston, according to authorities and local reporting.
Officers responded shortly before 6 p.m. to the 300 block of Terra Reserve Place in Houston’s Memorial area. Police said preliminary information indicated that a mother fatally shot her 4-year-old child and then shot herself. The mother was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
