FORT WORTH, TX – A quiet evening shattered into chaos at the Shady Oaks Apartments in east Fort Worth on Tuesday night when gunfire erupted, leaving a man and a woman injured, according to local authorities.
Police were dispatched to the scene around 9:13 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his legs and a woman with a gunshot wound to her hip. The man is currently in stable condition, while the woman is critically injured.
The victims informed officers that a man approached them and fired several shots before fleeing the scene. This incident is the second occurrence of gun violence at the Shady Oaks Apartments this week. Just days earlier, on May 17, rideshare driver Shawali Sherali was shot and killed nearby.
Currently, no suspects have been detained. The Fort Worth police gang unit has taken charge of the investigation, aiming to uncover the perpetrator and the motive behind the attack.
