Florida man carjacked in scheme orchestrated by dating app match

TITUSVILLE, FL – A Florida resident fell victim to a carjacking scheme orchestrated by a woman he met on a dating app, according to local law enforcement. The Titusville Police Department reported that the incident involved 24-year-old Brionna Eaddy and an unidentified 35-year-old man from Orlando who agreed to meet in person on September 24 at a local apartment complex after connecting on the Tagged dating app.

Eaddy, who is now in custody at the Brevard County jail, faces an armed carjacking felony charge. The arrest came after a warrant was issued in her name. The victim and Eaddy had driven to a nearby park in his 2013 Mazda CX9, but found it closed. Upon their return to the apartment complex, the situation took a turn for the worse.

During the journey back, Eaddy was reportedly busy on her phone, sending and receiving numerous text messages and making a phone call. Upon their arrival back at the apartment complex around 11:50 p.m., they were confronted by two men, one of whom was armed.

The armed individual ordered the victim out of his car and demanded the keys. The victim recounted that Eaddy calmly exited the vehicle and appeared to be waiting. Following this, the victim was instructed to lie down in the grass. He then watched as the two men and Eaddy drove away in his stolen vehicle.

The victim was able to provide the police with photographs of Eaddy from the Tagged app, leading to her identification and subsequent arrest. However, the police have yet to release any information about the two other men involved in the carjacking. The Meet Group, the company that owns Tagged, has not yet responded to requests for comment.
