FBI offers $20,000 reward for information on girl found mutilated

PHOENIX, AZ – The mysterious disappearance and death of Adrian Salinas in 2013 continue to haunt the Valley as the FBI renews its focus on the case. Salinas’s body was discovered two months after she went missing, prompting renewed efforts to solve this long-standing mystery.

The FBI recently announced a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest, marking the 12th anniversary of Salinas’s disappearance. The case has been highlighted as the FBI’s “case of the week” in hopes of generating new leads.

Salinas vanished after leaving a party at her Tempe apartment on June 15, 2013. After an argument with her boyfriend, she planned to take a cab to his house, but she instructed the cab to pick her up from a nearby gas station. When the cab arrived, Salinas was nowhere to be found.

Weeks later, her body was discovered in a flooded wash in Apache Junction, a significant distance from where she was last seen. Despite extensive interviews with her boyfriend, the cab driver, and other potential witnesses, no arrests have been made.

The investigation even extended to questioning Brian Patrick Miller, known as the “zombie hunter killer,” though no charges were filed. Detective Alan Akey, who has led the investigation since its inception, stated that no one involved had a solid alibi for the night Salinas disappeared.

The renewed push by the FBI aims to bring national attention to the case, hoping that the expanded reach and reward will encourage someone to come forward with crucial information.

Journalist William Pitts, who has followed the case closely, produced a documentary exploring the intricate details and numerous persons of interest connected to Salinas’s disappearance. The documentary reveals the complexities and unresolved elements of the investigation.

The documentary, which delves into the lives and relationships surrounding Salinas, airs tonight, offering viewers a chance to explore the case further. The hope remains that increased visibility will lead to justice for Salinas and closure for her family.

Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Tempe police or the FBI, emphasizing that even the smallest detail could be pivotal in solving this case.
