Father shoots son seven times after receiving eviction notice

HUDSON, FL – A father from Hudson is in custody after allegedly shooting his son during a dispute about moving out, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office. The incident, which was captured on video, unfolded in a tense family confrontation.

The son, who survived the shooting, shared the footage with authorities. It shows his father approaching with guns in hand and later calmly confessing to deputies after the incident. The son recounted how he tried to remain composed even as his father threatened him with two firearms.

“I never expected it,” the son said, describing the moment he was shot seven times. “You don’t think it will be a family member.”

Inside the family’s living room, the video reveals the father advancing with a gun in each hand. The son, fearing for his life, tried to de-escalate the situation and find a way to escape.

Gregory Hannah, the son, explained that his father, Timothy Snyder, was upset over an eviction notice posted on their home. “He was holding the guns, and I was pleading for my life,” Hannah recalled. “He mentioned he had been thinking about it for days.”

During the altercation, Hannah managed to call 9-1-1, using specific words to alert the operator to the gravity of the situation. When deputies arrived, Snyder confessed to the shooting.

Hannah is now recovering from his injuries, but he expressed the emotional scars will linger. “He’s my dad. I’m not going to see him anymore. I think about my child who loves him and won’t understand this.”

Hannah expressed gratitude to the 9-1-1 operators, whose quick response may have saved his life. His father remains in custody as the investigation continues.
