MIAMI, FL – A man was fatally shot in his car at a gas station in West Little River on Saturday, as reported by local authorities. The Miami-Dade police department reported responding to gunfire around the vicinity of 17 Avenue NW and 79 Street at 12:35 on Saturday afternoon. The man, who was notably found dead at the scene, had been parked at a gas station when he was shot.
A few hours after the incident occurred, a visibly distraught woman arrived at the petrol station. Recognizing the vehicle as one belonging to her father, she pleaded with officers to approach the car. She identified the deceased as Edward Bailey, father to six and a consistent provider. She shared that Bailey was a committed worker who ensured he returned home every day.
The crime happened at the busy junction of 17 Avenue NW and 79 Street, known for its bustling business establishments. A local individual revealed that his uncle owns a tire shop across the road from the incident scene.
He indicated they were familiar with Bailey as he frequently visited the car wash, gas station, and even his uncle’s tire shop. “He was a really cool guy. We don’t know why he got shot,” the man lamented to local reporters.
As of now, local law enforcement has not provided any information regarding possible motives or culprits involved in the tragic event.
