MEMPHIS, TN – A festive block party in Memphis, Tennessee, was marred by violence on Saturday night when a mass shooting claimed two lives and left six others wounded, according to local police.
Memphis Police were called to the Orange Mound neighborhood, specifically the 2400 block of Carnes Avenue, at 7:19 p.m. following reports of gunfire. The remaining three victims were immediately transported to the hospital in critical condition.
At a subsequent press conference, Interim Police Chief CJ Davis confirmed that a manhunt was underway for at least two suspects believed to have unleashed the deadly gunfire at the block party.
