Early morning shooting leaves two dead, two injured

In central North Carolina, an early Wednesday morning shooting claimed the lives of two individuals and inflicted injuries on two more. The search for those responsible remains ongoing, with no arrests made nor suspects identified at this stage.

The incident unfolded in Fayetteville, roughly 60 miles south of Raleigh. The Fayetteville Police Department reported receiving a distress call shortly before 3:30 a.m. local time. Upon their arrival at the reported location, officers were confronted with the sight of four gunshot victims, all of them men. The victims’ identities have not been disclosed by authorities at this time.

Tragically, two of the victims were declared dead at the scene. Emergency services swiftly transported the remaining two injured men to a nearby medical facility for urgent attention and treatment.

In a news release issued around 7 a.m. ET on the same Wednesday, the Fayetteville Police Department provided an update on the condition of the injured victims. One of them was stated to be dealing with non-life-threatening injuries, while the other was listed as being in a critical condition.

The Fayetteville Police Department is now conducting an active homicide investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
