The fateful discovery of a body off Texas’ coast has been made during the ongoing search for two missing brothers.
According to the Galveston Beach Patrol, the grim finding was made around 2 a.m. Tuesday, and the body matches the description of one of the thirteen-year-old twins.
Reports say that the boys, identified as Josue and Jefferson Perez, were last seen swimming near Pleasure Pier in Galveston.
At 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, their family called for help according to Lieutenant Austin Kirwin with Galveston Beach Patrol, after the twosome was suddenly missing from the chest- or waist-deep water—without anyone having seen either of them submerge.
The body was spotted by passersby who, upon noticing the form in the waves, pulled it ashore and contacted emergency services. An extensive search operation has since ensued and remains underway, involving the combined efforts of multiple agencies and teams as well as volunteers.
