A Small Utah Town In Shock As Double Homicide Leaves Community Troubled

Spanish Fork, Utah, a small town on the outskirts of Salt Lake City, is deeply shaken following the discovery of a double homicide. On Tuesday, March 14th, 2023, police responded to a welfare check at the residence of a 50-year-old woman and her 58-year-old husband.

Their son, 26-year-old Tryston Robert Erickson, was missing along with their vehicle.

Utilizing the location of the woman’s cell phone, detectives were able to find him in Colorado and tracked him down. Erickson fled when the officers located him, but was later captured and taken into custody in Grand County Colorado.

Investigations on-site continued late into the evening, as police tried to determine the full circumstances of the case. The police stated that Erickson had a history of mental health problems.

Leslie Bingham, a neighbor of the couple, described the male victim as “super helpful, very nice and friendly, often coming over to see if they needed help with yard work.” She was also the last person to have seen Erickson prior to the discovery of the bodies.

The victims were later identified as Timothy Parker, 58, and his wife, Jeannie Parker, 50. Erickson is Jeannie’s son and Timothy’s stepson.
