CLOVIS, CA – An 18-year-old man is facing serious charges following allegations of sexual assault involving minors and an animal. Gage Mason was taken into custody by Fresno County authorities last month after a detailed investigation.
Detectives initiated the probe when a family came forward, accusing Mason of sexually abusing children. The investigation uncovered evidence supporting the claims, suggesting Mason’s involvement in disturbing acts against both children and a dog.
Tony Botti, a spokesperson for the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, expressed deep concern over the nature of the case. “It’s extremely disturbing,” he noted, emphasizing the gravity of the allegations against Mason.
Authorities have charged Mason with attempted rape, lewd acts upon a child under 10, and assault on an animal. These charges stem from incidents that reportedly occurred both recently and several years ago.
The sheriff’s office believes there may be additional victims and is urging anyone with information to come forward. “Reporting these crimes is crucial,” Botti stated, highlighting the importance of preventing further victimization and uncovering any past offenses.
Mason’s arrest has prompted a broader investigation to determine the full extent of his alleged crimes. Detectives are actively seeking more information to ensure justice for all potential victims.
The community is encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to authorities. The case underscores the importance of community involvement in addressing and preventing such heinous acts.
Mason is currently being held at Fresno County Jail as the investigation continues. His case is set to proceed through the legal system, where the full extent of the charges will be addressed.
