$1.2 million in cash seized along with cocaine

GRAND RAPIDS, WY – A Wyoming man is facing multiple charges after authorities discovered more than 2 pounds of cocaine and approximately $1.2 million in cash during a police raid. The Grand Rapids Police Department believes this to be one of the largest cash seizures in the city’s history.

Antonio Cruz, 41, has been charged with five counts, including a serious felony drug charge that could result in a life sentence if he is convicted. Cruz was apprehended earlier this month at his residence on Berwyn Avenue in Wyoming, Michigan.

During the raid, officers confiscated not only the substantial amount of cash and cocaine but also several vehicles. The police have not released the specific number or types of vehicles seized.

Grand Rapids Police Chief Eric Lindstrom stated that the operation’s success reflects the department’s ongoing commitment to combating drug-related crimes in the community. “This significant seizure underscores our dedication to making Grand Rapids a safer place,” Lindstrom said.

The arrest and subsequent charges against Cruz have sent ripples through the local community, highlighting the persistent issue of drug trafficking in the region. Neighbors expressed shock and concern, noting that Cruz had lived in the area for several years without any apparent issues.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine if Cruz was part of a larger drug trafficking network. They are also assessing the potential for additional arrests connected to the case.

As the legal proceedings unfold, Cruz remains in custody, awaiting his next court appearance. The Grand Rapids Police Department encourages anyone with information related to this case to come forward.
